Motomind Training Program Adjustments for the Upcoming Year
After assessing our approach and challenges over the past year, we’ve made key adjustments to ensure that we deliver effective and efficient training for our riders while maintaining the flexibility needed to support competitive priorities.
1. Weekday Training Only for Regular Academy Programs
• Rationale: Weekend training sessions have not been effective due to riders’ racing commitments. Additionally, our presence is require at select events.
• New Approach: Moving forward, all regular training programs will be conducted on weekdays. This ensures that riders can focus on racing over the weekends, and we maintain the ability to support events as needed.
• Flexibility: We will offer select Saturday training options for riders who require occasional flexibility, but these will be limited and scheduled and booked through the website in advance.
2. Stricter Booking and Cancellation Policies
• Booking Enforcement: Our booking system will now be stricter. Last-minute dropouts, especially for track hire events, have created significant challenges.
• Cancellation Policy: A 24-48 hour cancellation policy will be implemented to ensure we can manage resources effectively. This is crucial for running productive sessions with appropriate rider-to-trainer ratios and keep numbers low.
• Focused Training: We pride ourselves on delivering results by maintaining low rider numbers per session. This requires strict enforcement of our booking policies. Running low numbers means we avoid overcrowding (e.g., 20+ riders with only one trainer), ensuring personalised and effective coaching so we ask that if everyone wants to keep numbers low and training individual they will have to work with us on this request.
3. Commitment to the Academy Program
• Attendance Expectation: Riders enrolled in programs are committing to both a structured plan and measurable results. Sessions missed will not be rolled over or deferred for convenience.
• Consistent Progression: Riders attending 1-2 sessions per week must adhere to the evolving program. This consistency is necessary for skill development and progress.
4. Weather-Related Adjustments
• Alternative Venues: In the event of adverse weather, we will pivot to alternative locations such as Mildenhall or Ashdown (which can operate in most weather conditions). Riders and parents must be prepared and flexible to adjust accordingly to keep up with the training schedule.
5. Seasonal UK Program Schedule
• UK Academy Programs: Training in the UK will now be offered from April to September. This seasonal schedule is due to the limitations of our clay-based facility, which becomes less suitable for training during the winter months and prevents multiple cancellations.
• Winter Training Integration: During the winter season, we will incorporate USA training into the program, providing riders with valuable opportunities to continue their development in more favourable conditions.
6. USA Bootcamps and UK Academy Programs
• Program Offerings: We will be running two intensive USA bootcamps and two 10-week UK academy programs. These structured sessions are designed to maximise rider improvement through focused, intensive training.
• Commitment Requirement: Riders who are serious about progressing must commit to at least one of the UK programs or participate in a USA bootcamp and be prepared to participate in online learning to compliment track side teachings. This commitment ensures that riders receive the necessary coaching and experience to make tangible progress.
7. Full-Time Training Path
• Year-Round Training: There are riders who will be training with us full-time, participating in both UK and USA sessions year-round. These riders will follow a very specific, tailored path aimed at achieving ambitious, long-term goals.
• Personalised Planning: If you are interested in a full-time training commitment or have unique goals that require a custom approach, we are happy to discuss your objectives in detail and create a personalised training plan.
Important Deadlines:
• Riders will not be allowed to join the academy programs after the start date of each program. This policy ensures that everyone progresses together and evolves through the structured training plan effectively, the second Uk program starts in July.
Q: What if we only wish to train as and when suits our schedule?
A: Our training structure is designed to provide consistent, high-quality coaching that leads to measurable results. If you require a more flexible approach, there are many other trainers who can better accommodate that style of training.
However, we do offer limited opportunities for more flexible participation:
• Monthly Open Training Session: We will aim host one open training session on a Saturday each month. Spaces for these sessions will be limited and must be booked and paid for in advance to secure your spot. These will cater for all ages and abilities
• Mini Mind Boot Camps for Younger Riders: We will also offer select mini mind boot camps during school holidays (April-Sept), specifically designed for younger riders who want to improve their skills in a condensed format.
These options are intended to provide some level of flexibility while maintaining the quality and focus of our core programs.
Q: How do we know if the training is right for us before signing up?
A: We have a thorough process to ensure our training is a good match for you and your rider:
• Step 1: Questionnaire – All riders and/or parents will begin by completing a detailed questionnaire. This helps us understand your goals, needs, and whether our methods align with what you’re looking for.
• Step 2: Try-Out Day – Based on the questionnaire, you will be invited to attend a try-out day. This allows you to experience our training firsthand and gives us the opportunity to assess the readiness and commitment of both the rider and parent.
• Step 3: Assessment & Invitation – If both parties agree that it’s a good fit, and we feel confident that our program will benefit the rider, you will be invited to officially join the program.
This process ensures that everyone is fully prepared and committed to the training structure, setting the foundation for successful development.
Training Program Structure for 2025: Catering to All Ages Effectively
Our goal is to deliver training that develops our riders’ skills and mindset in a meaningful way. After reviewing performance and scheduling challenges, we’re making adjustments to optimise our programs for different age groups.
1. Academy Program: Professional Pathway Focus
• Commitment: For riders mature enough to want to learn on and off the bike, our programs will follow a Professional Pathway, emphasising consistency and progression. Training will be structured around multiple days in a row or at least once per week, as this leads to better skill development and deeper learning. Sporadic lessons over time, especially when interrupted by race commitments, do not yield the results we aim for.
• Rationale: The Professional Pathway requires dedication and a consistent approach. By adhering to a structured plan, riders will be able to evolve together, ensuring that everyone stays on track and maximises their potential.
2. Mini Minds Bootcamps
• Structured Bootcamps: For our younger riders , we will shift to Mini Minds Bootcamps, held during school holidays (April-Sept). These intensive training sessions will focus on multiple consecutive days, providing a consistent learning experience.
• Why Bootcamps? Given school commitments, younger riders may not be able to train regularly during the week. By scheduling these bootcamps during school breaks, we offer focused, high-quality training that is more effective than scattered lessons throughout the year. This approach ensures that younger riders remain engaged and can maximise their progress.
Better Results Through Consistency
These changes reflect our experience that training multiple days in succession leads to more meaningful skill development than inconsistent lessons spread out over time. Whether through the Professional Pathway for older riders or focused bootcamps for younger ones, our aim is to give every rider the best opportunity to improve and succeed.
